The Campagnolo Chorus Eps 11x Rear Mech has extremely powerful motors are capable of producing levels of torque without rival in electronic shifting which guarantee precise and effective shifting no matter the conditions or circumstances.
The Campagnolo Chorus EPS groupset takes a great deal of its DNA from its mechanical counterpart as it represents a more accessible version of Campagnolo performance, quality and attention to detail but delivers it in the laser-like precision package of an EPS drivetrain.
The shifting performance of the Chorus EPS groupset is exactly the same as its lighter weight siblings, Record and Super Record, making for a transmission
fit for professional racing. Shifting even under heavy load is no problem for the Chorus EPS transmission and mud, grime and debris have met their match against such powerful motors.
The EPS rear dérailleur is comprised mainly of a mechanical structure, derived from the mechanical gear and composed of a dérailleur rod/parallelogram/dérailleur cage, of a worm screw enabled by an electronic actuator. As with the dérailleur, the electronic rear dérailleur actuator is composed of a gear motor and a sensor, the built-in resolver, that reads its movements.
The geometry of the parallelogram has been made more rigid and optimised to promote interaction with the electronic parts.
The rear dérailleur is also equipped with a play recovery system using a helicoidal spring that optimises stability and precision and keeps operation and performance constant over time, even after many kms have been covered.
As with the mechanical rear dérailleur, it is possible to optimise its position with respect to the frame and chain by acting on two adjusting screws: the screw that adjusts the mechanical end stop and the screw that adjusts the distance between the upper pulley and sprockets. By using these screws it is possible to optimise the installation of the rear dérailleur and increase the precision of its operation.
DTI: Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operation.
MULTI-SHIFTING: There are no longer any limits to Multi-shifting and the choice is at the fingertips of the cyclist.
RIDE BACK HOME: The uncoupling mechanism of the rear dérailleur is useful if the battery runs out ""on the road"", allowing you to manually ""uncouple"" the rear dérailleur to position it on which ever sprocket you require.
WATER PROOF: In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
Rating on the entire system rain gear is only necessary for the cyclist, not his groupset.
Various derailleur systems were designed and built as far back as the late 1800s. A French bicycle tourist, writer and cycling promoter Paul De Vivie (1853-1930), invented a two speed rear derailleur in 1905 which he used on forays into the Alps, and we wonder if 20 gears are enough..... Since then there have been many advancements, in the number of gears, materials and reductions in weight. Wiggle lists a large selection of front and rear derailleurs catering for double and triple systems with 7, 8, 9, 10 and even 11 speed cassettes.
Besides distinguishing themselves for their unparalleled quality and performance, Campagnolo products have also become the benchmark of design. This is testified by the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award granted by the Associazione Design Italiano in recognition of the Veloce groupset, Ergopower integrated controls and Shamal high-profile wheels. Campagnolo is not only involved in the cycling world, but dedicates itself to all sports in general. In fact, it was named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the most prominent sports brands in the world. A reputation earned not only as a result of the countless successes achieved in racing competitions, but also by virtue of the attention given to quality and to service that sets this company apart from all others.
