The Clement MXP tubeless is their newest cyclocross tyre that features an intermediate tread pattern to create an excellent all-condition tyre.
|Wheel Size:||700c (622)|
The MXP is named after the airport code for Milan, Italy, a World Cup venue that calls for an all-conditions tyre. The name is also a homage to Clement’s Italian pedigree.
The tread is an updated version of the classic Grifo profile first developed by Clement decades ago. Some of the changes include cuts in the central chevrons to allow the tread to flex and more aggressive side knobs with a shape inspired by a soccer cleat.
The MXP is designed for a wide variety of conditions and variable surfaces. It excels on grass, loose dirt, sand, moderate mud, hard pack, snow and pavement. If you could only have one cyclocross tire, this is the one to have.
Cyclo Cross tyres are for use with road wheels to allow them to be ridden off road. They range from 30 to 35mm wide and are designed with different tread patterns to suit the various conditions that can be encountered during the Cyclo Cross season. Usually at the start of the season the ground is dry and hard so a narrower low tread tyre is needed as low rolling resistance is a priority. Later in the season when the ground is wet, grip is a priority so a wider tyre with increased tread would be the better option.
Clement - A Classic Cycling Brand with Contemporary Style. In cycling, the name Clement is as legendary as the many champions who logged time and wins on these classic silks. Names like Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, Felice Gimondi, and Ole Ritter to name a very few. The CLEMENT brand was founded by Gustave Adolphe Clément-Bayard, the second son of a French grocer, who left home at the age of 16 with 30 francs in his pocket and died in Paris in 1928 at age 74 a multi-millionaire industrialist. He began his manufacturing career in 1878 by manufacturing high-quality bicycles and expanded into tyre manufacturing in 1888 and, later, into the manufacture and development of airplanes, automobiles, motorcycles, and dirigibles. In 1912, he was named a Commander of the Légion d’Honneur. After World War I, the Clement brand moved to Italy, and this is how most people think of the brand – as an Italian brand. CLEMENT tyres were the premier tyre in competition for decades, and probably more Tour de France and single day “Classics” were won on Clement tyres than any other tyre in the world.
