The SH-M200 is Shimano’s new premium trail/enduro shoe. Increased protection, excellent off-bike traction and TORBAL technology culminate in a shoe with XC efficiency and weight and the durability, grip and armour that trail riders require.

Aggressive trail riders and enduro racers, mountain bikers who blur the line between cross-country and downhill, require footwear that offers pedalling efficiency and the security of added protection. With Shimano’s new TORBAL line of shoes, YOU can confidently attack the climbs and maintain control on technical descents.
These shoes features special new dual-density, extra-cushion insoles for stability during the pedal stroke and enhanced shock absorption and cushioning for the foot. Heels and toes are protected from impacts with the combination of the low-profile, armoured upper and moulded, raised rubber sole.
Shimano’s new TORBAL (Torsional Balance) Technology better connects the rider and pedal with what the bicycle is doing underfoot while maintaining comfort and flexibility through all ranges of rider motion. TORBAL allows the outsole to twist, allowing for lateral movement of the rider, while keeping the forefoot aligned with the pedal.
This encourages a natural rider “flow” motion, improving control especially during technical downhills, and allowing aggressive trail riders to push their limits even further.
Dual Density Extra-Cushion Insole
The cup shape of this insole serves to optimise the heel angle amd ensure stability while pedaling. This insole is equipped with a hard, high density, and highly durable EVA heel cup. Cushioning in the heel section provides added comfort when walking.
Wider Cleat Adjustment
Following Shimano's Rider-Tuned concept, the soles on Shimano's latest Trail/Enduro shoes provide an expanded cleat-adjustment range to support a wider variety of riding styles. Now you can find the perfect cleat position for your shoe-to-pedal interface.
The cleat range (extended) depends on the size of shoe:
MTB Cycling shoes have stiffer soles than an everyday shoe, like a trainer for instance, this means that they transfer more power to the pedals each time you push down. By improving this connection between your foot and the pedal, you can ride longer due to more efficiency and with more comfort. Higher level shoes will have 3 straps on the upper which make them very adjustable and can improve comfort further. Mountain bike shoes have a knobbly grippy sole so you can dismount and run with the bike off road when needed, or walk for small periods if popping to the shops. They are a true all round shoe that can be used for off road, road, touring and commuting.
