In 1949 US researchers set out to create the fastest, most hydrodynamic and agile submarine in the world – named ‘The Albacore’. The ground-breaking project took them on a journey of idea generation, testing, retesting and continual improvement, the ultimate example of Science, Research, Reality.
HUUB’s Albacore project is inspired by this history; it is their mission to develop the fastest products through water.
This is an endless journey for us. HUUB continually create new materials and develop new technologies that throw up more questions than answers, but they provided them with more avenues to pursue in their quest to produce the optimum equipment for open water, triathlon and pool swimming.
The Albacore project allows their Research and Design Team, led By Professor Huub Toussaint, to set aside the normal confines of sales seasons and competitive pressure. HUUB's team simply research and refine so that all their products, when they come to market, are the very fastest possible at that point in time.
Albacore products are the very Omega of the world in which they compete. And while you may never get to know the days, weeks, and months, spent testing and analysing the results, you will feel the benefits.
"It’s what you don't see that makes YOU faster"
3MM UPPER BODY MATERIALS AND 5MM LOWER BODY MATERIALS
85% of triathletes come to the sport from a non-swimming background and many suffer from low sinking legs in the water as they swim. Of course, the buoyancy of any wetsuit helps bring the legs up higher but never before have wetsuits been designed specifically for these swimmers with a large buoyancy difference between the upper and lower bodies. Until you swim in one of these suits you won’t believe how high your legs can be, they will feel glued to the surface and your potential as a swimmer will be truly unleashed! As HUUB designed these sophisticated high technology suits, they increasingly moved away from neoprene towards new materials with properties of increased buoyancy and specified levels of stretch.
