With the Mio Cyclo Discover Pal you will never miss a route, junction, point of interest or destination! This bicycle navigation from Mio is fully tailored to cyclists who want to get from A to B and C and beyond.
The very extensive navigation options of the Discover Pal are derived from the Mio 200 series and previous Discover models. We already knew the Surprise Me and NeverMiss function from the Discover Pal.
This Pal has gone a step further. Compared to the Discover Connect, this Pal is even more extensive. For example, the Surprise Me function has been expanded with the option to connect a Shimano Steps system and to plan routes based on your E-bike battery capacity. In addition, the Surprise Me function has the pre-existing options to calculate routes from the current location based on distance and time and calculate routes to addresses, points of interest (POI), favourites and a point on the map.
The NeverMiss function leads you to all POIs that you can also save in a list. RouteYou users can synchronize routes on the Cyclo navigation.
Furthermore, this Discover Pal can be linked with many third party apps, such as Strava, Komoot and the aforementioned RouteYou. Your accounts are easy to connect with the MioShare app.
Touring cyclists who ride their routes on the basis of nodes can use this navigation system to create a route with nodes. The upcoming nodes will be displayed on your device. This Discover Pal even has the possibility to enter junction numbers on the device, after which a route is created based on the order of the numbers based on your GPS position. With the MIoShare app you can compose your own route with the Cyclo-trail map view.
You can create routes through a RouteYou route (click here for explainer video), but also by importing a .gpx file into MioShare. You can also download routes from Strava, RouteYou and Komoot, among others.
NeverMiss function: While you are on the road, the new NeverMiss function reminds you of every place you have created along the route via MioShare. Scan the pop-up QR code for detailed description of your online note.
Shimano Steps: This Discover Pal supports Shimano Steps E8000, E7000 and E6100 systems and shows the E-bike information on the screen. The data shown are: battery status, assist mode, Di2 gear, travel time and range, speed, distance.
Bike POI: do you want to get a cup of coffee on the way or do you need bicycle repair? Points of interest for bicycles are offered on this device. Quickly search for food & drink, bike shops and more.
Where am I: This feature displays the exact location of where you are. In an emergency, it will show your current address, along with latitude and longitude.
Bypass roadblock: Unexpected traffic situations can be avoided by using the detour button on the map screen. You can choose a detour of 500m, 1km or 2km.
Walking routes: in addition to the options city bike, mountain bike and racing bike, you can also choose “run and walk”.
MTB calculation of unpaved roads: This function shows the percentage of unpaved roads in a Surprise Me mountain biking route.
