The Rover MIPS MTB Helmet makes use of a host of proven protection technologies to ensure that you're protected should you take a fall from your mountain bike. It starts with Smith's Aerocore™ construction featuring Koroyd®. This provides highly targetted zonal impact protection where and when you need it most while maintaining a surprisingly low weight. With MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) also on board, you can be sure of the very best in head protection when flying down MTB trails.
To get the perfect fit, the VaporFit system couldn't be easier to use. A dial on the rear cradle allows micro-adjustment so comfort and a secure fit are always within a simple turn. Talking of comfort, the XT2 performance lining is anti-bacterial so prevents the build-up of odours or that annoying itch after a sweaty bike session. With Smith's AirEvac ventilation system, featuring 20 vents and an integrated visor, you're sure to keep your cool too.
What is MIPS?
Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) is a proven system that reduces the rotational forces on the brain when you're involved in a crash. The forces are absorbed and redirected to prevent them from being transmitted to the brain.
MIPS is a Brain Protection System
Rotational motion can cause brain injuries
The low friction layer allows a sliding movement of 10–15 mm, in all directions, reducing rotational motion to the brain during impact
MIPS adds protection
