The Energie EVO CR is ideal for all-condition cyclocross racing, weekend trail riding adventures and the demands of daily inner-city commutes, and is versatile, dependable and stylish. Plus, Vitus has kitted it out with a SRAM Rival 1x11-Speed groupset with a 40T chainset, an 11-36T cassette and SRAM Rival HRD hydraulic disc brakes. This component spec gives you a wide gear range that's ideal for riding anywhere in the hills, combined with powerful hydraulic disc brakes that ensure you have exceptional all-weather stopping power at your fingertips. And it rolls upon Tubeless Ready Alex CXD22 rims wrapped in fast-rolling and high grip Maxxis All Terrane tyres.
At its core, the Vitus Energie EVO CR Rival Cyclocross Bike has the clean lines and sleek aesthetic of a modern carbon race bike. But its best side is not the one leaning pristine against an immaculate garage wall or sparkling for Instagram. It’s the one ready for the real world - to race laps of a grassy park in the rain, slide into muddy corners, power through sand and compete in the worst winter weather. This bike cares not for your ability or ambition. Just want to finish? That’s cool, but if you also want to get amongst it this has the cutting-edge design to mix it with any competition. The buzz of race day, the nerves, the friendly competition with clubmates, the thrill of the experience, the personal bests, the feel of a great bike and wanting to do it all again next week. That’s what the Energie EVO is about.
Whether racing for the podium or just for fun, the frame is loaded with thoughtfully engineered features that are uniquely designed and refined for the demands of cyclocross. A flatter top tube sits comfortably on your shoulder when carrying and a single-entry cable routing system reduces penetration of dirt so that performance is not affected by wet conditions or a jet wash. A revised carbon lay-up improves the stiffness for powering out of the turns, where it really matters mid-race, while also reducing weight for when you need to carry or charge into a climb.
The top tube is slightly longer and the stem a little shorter than before, keeping weight distribution slightly back from the front end, so the handling feels snappy and responsive - this is immediate control, whatever the conditions. Frame clearance around the wheels is generous, so your speed won’t be slowed, nor the bike weighed down by mud. This clearance also makes the bike easy to clean, when the racing is done you can spray the bike down quickly and put it straight into the car.
A Vitus is always best being ridden, not hanging on a wall, waiting or posing. So, when you’re not lining up for cyclocross, thanks to an innovative removable seat stay bridge, you can add mudguards and carry on with your winter training and year-round commuting. However hard the ride, with the Vitus Energie EVO CR Cyclocross Bike (Rival), the fun is always turned right up.
Expertly crafted with no joins, the uniquely layered continuous UD carbon frame is strong and light. And those modern, clean lines look awesome too!
The geometry of top-tier Vitus frames has been carefully calculated to ensure that comfort, aerodynamics and power are balanced, so the ride feel is enhanced for the best performance, and enjoyment, in all conditions.
Mud is slow. To combat that we’ve made the clearance between tyre and frame as wide as possible (within UCI-regulations, of course) so the bike won’t get weighed down and your drivetrain won’t clog in those wet and sticky races.
The addition of an innovative removable mudguard mount between the seatstays gives you the option to keep using this bike beyond cyclocross racing, be that commuting, winter training or exploring remote lanes.
The Vitus top-tier Performance Design geometry considers aerodynamics, comfort and power as a whole system
