The Nucleus hardtail bike has been selected as the clear winner of MBR's under £500 hardtail of the year award for the last four years in a row and this new Nucleus VRS advances on last years performance to defend its title once again.
Designed and kitted out and equipped to fit into the easy to afford price point, however, the Nucleus has never fitted into the generic, entry-level mountain bike category. Vitus' ethos is to provide quality without breaking the bank and has equipped this model with a quality-performing component spec aboard a robust and stylish construction. This year's version features an increased standover height and aggressive geometry for even greater handling control and playful ride characteristics than ever before while its component spec leaves its competition in the dust behind it.
This playful and reliable fun machined features modern low, long and slack geometry and rolls aboard 29" wheels for the perfect balance of speed and responsive handling. With 100mm of SR Suntour travel at the front, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and a superb finishing kit from Vitus to complete the build, you will be setting your sights higher and further afield than ever before. Plus, it features a Shimano 1x10-speed drivetrain with a wide-range 11-46 tooth cassette at its core for efficient pedalling performance to get you up the steepest hills with ease and to carve your way back down with control and confidence-inspiring stability. And, it has been designed to include internal dropper post cable routing, so you can easily fit this beneficial upgrade in the future.

Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
