This bike is designed to soar past the race-pack and leave them behind, as you race onwards to the finish. It's kitted out with pro-level components upon an exceptional frame and fork construction to have you blasting up even the steepest climbs with efficiency, racing the fastest descents with confidence and tackling any challenge in all weather conditions with complete confidence.
The ZX-1 sits at the pinnacle of the Vitus range and since 1991, it has been a pioneer in carbon frame construction. The latest evolution provides superior aerodynamic efficiency and performance-enhancing stability in all race and weather conditions, and significantly increases your performance output when sprinting, putting the power down on demanding climbs and when racing to the bottom of steep alpine descents.
The ZX-1 is bred for competition and fills the rider with the desire to win. It's UCI approved frameset is used by the UCI Continental Pro cycling team, Vitus Pro Cycling p/b Brothers UK and is raced by some of Britain’s top talent, including multiple Olympic Champion Ed Clancy.
Powering the ZX-1 forward is a Shimano Ultegra R8000 drivetrain, the R8000 groupset is sleak stealth groupset designed for power transfer and aesthetics. The all new chainset with its enhanced design to increase stiffness on the downwards pedal is coupled up with a 52/36t semi-compact chainset.
Shimano have redeveloped the shifters to make them more ergonomical and with reduced shifter swing allowing a smoother gear change whilst making them more comfortable for the smaller hands. These are then wired up to the new compact front derailleur, which uses a new cable pull method allowing a lighter gear change. The R8000 rear derailleur uses Shimanos ever reliable Shadow system which allows you to run wider ratio cassette. Vitus have then spec'd the 11-30t cassette making sure that you are supported up the hills as well as down them.
Coupled up with the Shimano R8000 drivetrain is a set of the all new Ultegra hydraulic brakes, Using the new flat mount standard the Shimano brakes work on a dual piston braking system allowing a lighter and better performing brake. Coupled up with 160/140mm Shimano's rotors and IceTec pads these brake will not let you down when you need to stop no matter what the conditions!
This road-race dominator rolls on Prime Black Edition wheels and Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless 25c tyres for superior reliability, power-transfer and cornering finesse in all riding conditions. It's cornering stability and delivery of power to its rear wheel is enhanced further thanks to having a 12mm thru-axles, which stiffen the frame to component contact points.
As a finishing touch Vitus has spec'd a mix of thier own finishing kit, Prime and Prologo. Complimenting the frameset is a Vitus custom aero Carbon seatpost with a 25mm offset allowing plenty of adjustment to ensure the bike fits well. This coupled up with the Prologo Kappa Evo PAS saddle making sure that you are comfortable whilst on those long rides. Aiding at the front end of the bike is a Prime Doyenne 6 Bolt stem bolted to a set of the Vitus Alloy road bars allowing maximum comfort and control.
